Frequently Asked Questions

Where are Furoshiki coats made?

We work with a made-to-measure tailoring factory in Northern Italy. As they normally work with fully canvased Italian suiting, they are very experienced at making lightweight garments with a unique balance of machine making and hand-finishing. They have an extensive range of specialist machines and pressing machines to create a very crafted product within an efficient timeframe.

How do I know which size to order?

In the product page, click on the 'Measuring Guide' to get full instructions on how to take the key measurements. You can then compare your measurements to the 'Size Chart' to work out the right size. Our patterns are cut to be as forgiving as possible and to fit as many sizes and shapes as we can accommodate. This is one of the reasons we favour a raglan sleeve and a slightly A-line cut. The sleeves can easily be lengthened or shortened by any alterations tailor if you require a more precise sleeve fit. How long will it take to receive my order?

The delivery window is 6-8 weeks for UK orders and 7-9 weeks for orders from Europe and other International destinations. We will try to to get your coat to you as quickly as is humanly possible.

Can I change my order once I have placed it?

Once an order has been placed, it goes straight into production to ensure that you receive your coat as soon as possible. For this reason, the details can't be changed once an order has been placed. That being said, contact us and we'll do our best.

Do you accept returns?

As our coats are made-to-order unfortunately we cannot accept returns, if you have an issue with your new coat please contact us and we'll try to find a solution. For items we keep in stock like our accessories, we offer a 30-day refund. Email us at info@furoshikiovercoat.com

Do you require up-front payment?

As our coats are made one at a time, we take full payment up-front to ensure our production costs are covered.

Can I order custom details that aren't listed on the website?

We don't currently offer special orders with custom details that differ to our standard models. This is to assist in keeping production efficient and lead times to a minimum. Emails us anyway as it will be interesting to hear what you had in mind!

Can I order swatches?

Yes, we can send you up to four complimentary swatches to help you to make a more informed choice. We recommend you consider the other colours and patterns in your wardrobe as well as your own colouring when selecting a cloth because an overcoat has to be versatile enough to be worn with just about anything. 

 

Do you offer any ready-to-wear products?

We try to maintain a lightweight business model that responds to customer demand in order to reduce waste and to increase the range of choice. Much like a restaurant, we do hold stock of the raw materials but we don't pre-prepare the meals. We do keep stock of our accessories and these are ready to buy at any time for immediate delivery.
